Your Rights Are under Attack. We Need Your Help To Stop SB 68.

The rights of Georgia citizens to recover money damages for the injuries and harms done to them by negligent and careless people and businesses are under attack!

Insurance companies are looking for more profits, and they have convinced our governor and some politicians in Georgia to try change the laws in Georgia, some that have been in existence for over 150 years, to take away your rights to seek full compensation in personal injury cases.  This is for all types of injury cases, including car accidents, medical malpractice, nursing home abuse, negligent security, dog bites and others.  This is called “tort reform” but it should be called an “insurance company profitability guarantee”.

For our former clients, this means the money we recovered for you from an insurance company would have been much less if these proposed changes in the law were in place when we resolved your case.

For our current clients, this means our politicians in Atlanta are now considering severely limiting the damages you can recover from the insurance companies involved in your case.

We need your help to fight these proposed changes in the law, and we need it right now!

Governor Kemp stated recently that his “tort reform” package “levels the playing field in our courtrooms, bans hostile foreign powers from taking advantage of consumers and legal proceedings, aims to stabilize insurance costs for businesses and consumers, increases transparency and fairness, and ensures Georgia continues to be the best place to live, work and raise a family”.  In reality, these proposed changes in the law, known as Senate Bill 68 (or SB 68) does none of those things.  The measures proposed won’t lower insurance premiums or curb “frivolous lawsuits”.  They will only further increase the record-breaking profits of insurance companies at the expense of innocent Georgians, making it increasingly more difficult for injured Georgians to obtain justice.  The legal and Constitutional rights of every citizen in this state should not be limited or infringed upon and wrongdoers not held responsible and accountable for their actions just so insurance companies can add more money to their record-breaking profits.

What can you do to help?

We need you to contact your state senator and state representative immediately and tell them you want them to vote NO on Senate Bill 68.  Tell them to leave our laws the way they are and to protect the rights of injured Georgians over the profits of insurance companies.

There are 2 ways you can help by contacting your legislators.

First, click on the link below and you can send a pre-written email to your state representative and senator voicing your objection to SB 68.  Click the Button Below.

Next, you can use the link below to get the phone number for your state representative and state senator and you can call their offices in Atlanta.  Say something short and simple such as:  “Please vote NO on SB 68. This tort reform bill protects wrongdoers and insurance companies, and will only hurt me and my family.  Please leave the tort laws alone. “

YOUR RIGHTS ARE UNDER ATTACK.  A VOTE WILL TAKE PLACE ON FRIDAY IN ATLANTA.  TAKE ACTION NOW!

THANK YOU,
